Video systems can be used to increase safety for personnel. Automated remote monitoring for dangerous areas allow operators to be automatically notified if personnel enter areas where unsafe conditions exists and/or not authorized to enter. Video systems, utilizing video analytics technology, can create virtual safety zones to detect personnel in these areas. In addition to operator notification, the video system can be interconnected to other safety systems to automatically start safety procedures or shutdown unsafe conditions. These video systems can pro-actively identify unsafe conditions or operations and then stop or initiate corrective actions to alleviate the safety concerns.
